EdlyAllen BudgetAddress Purple

SPRINGFIELD — In response to Governor JB Pritzker’s budget address Wednesday, State Senator Mary Edly-Allen (D-Libertyville) issued the following statement:

“As we head into an unpredictable reality, I stand firm on my position that we will always uphold our commitment to basic human rights including health care coverage, bodily autonomy and creating a safe place for our neighbors.

“I am dedicated to protecting funding for working families and passing a comprehensive budget that supports our working class. In Illinois, we will not be intimidated or shy away from our commitment to protect our most vulnerable. We will continue to fight to keep our great state moving forward – regardless of what is thrown our way.

“In the coming months, I will fight alongside my colleagues for a fair and equitable budget — one that supports a high quality of life for all, irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, disability or sexual orientation. My commitment to protecting our most vulnerable communities remains unwavering.”
