In partnership with Let It Be Us and Senator Darby Hills, my office invites you to attend a free, informative Foster Care & Adoption 101 Seminar on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Libertyville Civic Center, located at 135 W Church St. in Libertyville.

This seminar is designed to help individuals and families learn how they can make a meaningful difference for children in Illinois foster care. 

Attendees will hear from knowledgeable guest speakers about the various types of foster care available in Lake County and surrounding areas, such as, emergency, specialized, traditional and therapeutic foster care.

You will also learn what each pathway entails, what supports are available, and how Let It Be Us can guide you through your fostering or adoption journey.

Whether you are just beginning to explore fostering or adoption, or you are ready to take the next step, this session will give you the knowledge and support to get started.

Join my office, State Representative Joyce Mason, the Citizens Utility Board and Zion- Benton Library for a presentation to learn more about your utility bills and energy efficiency programs that can help save energy and money.

The presentation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 10-11 a.m. at the Zion-Benton Library, located at 2400 Gabriel Ave. in Zion. No registration is required.

We are bringing the DMV to you! My office is pleased to partner with the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to provide mobile DMV services to our constituents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Libertyville Senior Center, located at 135 W. Church St.

The Illinois Secretary of State's mobile Driver Services unit will be at Zion-Benton Library on December 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Representatives of the Secretary of State's office will be on hand to assist with:

• Renewing or correcting driver's licenses
• Converting existing standard driver’s licenses into REAL ID driver’s licenses
• Obtaining renewed or first time Standard or REAL state IDs
• Issuing free state IDs for seniors aged 65 or older
• Purchasing license plate stickers
