My office is joining State Representative Joyce Mason for a Mobile DMV at the Village of Winthrop Harbor, 830 Sheridan Road, Winthrop Harbor, on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Appointments at this time are currently closed for Mobile DMV services, however representatives of the Secretary of State's office will be on hand to assist with:

Renewing or correcting driver's licenses
Converting existing standard driver’s licenses into REAL ID driver’s licenses
Obtaining renewed or first time Standard or REAL state IDs
Issuing free state IDs for seniors aged 65 or older
Purchasing license plate stickers.

Attendees can also register to be an organ donor/tissue donor and register to vote while applying for a driver’s license or identification card.

Representatives from Illinois Tollway will also be available to exchange I-Pass Transponders for the new I-Pass Sticker.

A list of acceptable documents for the issuance of first time ID’s and REAL ID’s can be found at www.ilsos.gov.

On July 4, 2025, the federal government passed a new law that makes significant changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as Link in Illinois. Illinois and all other states are now required to implement the changes. Work reporting requirements take effect on February 1, 2026.

In partnership with Let It Be Us and Senator Darby Hills, my office invites you to attend a free, informative Foster Care & Adoption 101 Seminar on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Libertyville Civic Center, located at 135 W Church St. in Libertyville.

This seminar is designed to help individuals and families learn how they can make a meaningful difference for children in Illinois foster care.

Attendees will hear from knowledgeable guest speakers about the various types of foster care available in Lake County and surrounding areas, such as, emergency, specialized, traditional and therapeutic foster care.

You will also learn what each pathway entails, what supports are available, and how Let It Be Us can guide you through your fostering or adoption journey.
