Join us at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 at the University Center of Lake County for a free screening of And So I Stayed, an award-winning documentary about survivors of domestic violence who are incarcerated for killing their abusers in self-defense.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:
- Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart
- Prairie State Legal Services’ Senior Staff Attorney, Courtney Krznarich, and
- A Safe Place Chief of Crisis Response Services And Family Trauma Services Dr. Margarita Garcia

- Converting existing standard driver’s licenses into REAL ID driver’s licenses
- Obtaining renewed or first time Standard or REAL state IDs
- Issuing free state IDs for seniors aged 65 or older
- Purchasing license plate stickers.
Attendees can also register to be an organ donor/tissue donor and register to vote while applying for a driver’s license or identification card.
Representatives from Illinois Tollway will also be available to exchange I-Pass Transponders for the new I-Pass Sticker.
