SPRINGFIELD — State Senator Mary Edly-Allen (D-Libertyville) took the oath of office and was sworn in for a new term Wednesday as the Illinois Senate officially began the 104th General Assembly. She released the following statement:

“I am honored to once again serve and represent the people of Lake County in the 31st District and thank my constituents for entrusting me to be their voice in Springfield.

In this session, my focus will be on legislation that raises up working families, protects our marginalized communities, and promotes clean energy.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the General Assembly to put forth legislation that improves the lives of all residents in our great state of Illinois.”
